    2Build the lineup

Rotates every player through the field so bench time is shared evenly across the game.

Mark who's present, then Build lineup to see the rotation sheet.

    Before kickoff

Walk the line once. Takes a minute and it is the part nobody remembers.

    3Practice plan

Keep it short and busy — 60 minutes, as many touches per kid as you can fit, minimal standing in line. Add drills from the Drill Library, set the minutes, reorder with the ↑ ↓ buttons.

      4Drill library

Age-appropriate drills for 6–7 year olds. Every one keeps kids touching the ball. Filter by what you want to work on, then + Add to your practice plan.

      5Rules & conduct

The reference half of the Region 630 U8 guide — the parts the app does not do for you. Nothing here has settings; it is here so you can check it on a Saturday morning.

      In play

      • Goalkeeper may not punt. Roll or throw it out, or place it down and play it with the feet.
      • Once the keeper places the ball on the ground, they may not pick it up again.
      • Hands only inside the box — outside it the keeper is an ordinary player.
      • Throw-in: both hands, ball starts behind the head, both feet stay on the ground. Coach the technique, don't just re-take it.
      • Corner kicks: opponents stay 5 yards back.
      • Goal kicks: opponents retreat to the halfway line.
      • Every player keeps for a quarter, maximum one quarter each.
      • No referee for the match ⇒ no goalkeeper for that match.

      Playing time

      • Everyone plays at least 3 of 4 quarters before anyone plays a 4th.
      • One player may sit 2 quarters in a game — rotate that responsibility across games. The lineup builder now tracks this for you.
      • Safety and injury substitutions are allowed at any time, and the player may return in the same quarter.

      Timing

      • Two 20-minute halves, played as four 10-minute quarters.
      • Substitution break mid-half: 2–3 minutes.
      • Halftime: 5 minutes, 10 on a hot day.
      • Start on time. Warm up before the start time, not into it.

      Coaching on game day

      • Stay on the sideline. Not behind the goals.
      • Do not run onto the field.
      • Teach; don't criticise. They are seven.
      • If one team is running away with it (say 5–0), reduce the dominant team's players on the field. Game Day will nudge you.

      Parents

      • Hold a pre-season meeting and share the AYSO behaviour guidelines.
      • Cheer, don't coach — the kids can only follow one voice.
      • Pick one sideline spot and stay about a yard back from the line.

      Referees

      • Each team supplies 5 centre referees in Fall, 4 in Spring.
      • 8U referee training is required for all coaches and team referees.

      Equipment

      • Shin guards, worn under the socks. Cleats. Size 3 ball.
      • No jewellery or watches — removed, not taped over.

      Field

      • 6v6 with keeper.
      • Goals 12 × 6, field 50 × 40, as written in the guide. The units are almost certainly yards — 50 feet would be shorter than a six-yard box. Worth confirming with Region 630.
